Kineviz 3.27.0 Release Notes

Kineviz and Kineviz Desktop include enhancements for user-defined workspaces, support for connection to many additional external databases, enhanced Agent UI, and added API capability.

In a Kineviz Online or Kineviz Desktop project, to access release notes, click the Kineviz logo at the bottom left, choose About, then click on the release tag.

Usability Enhancements

  • In the left panel menu, click and drag to change the order of menu items. (GXR-4541)

  • The Query bar at the top left is made more compact. A shortcut key (Cmd+K) opens it. (GXR-4535)

  • In Datastore>Utilities, a Schema button displays the schema of the currently connected database, and lets you:

    • Add Categories and Relationships.

    • Import or Export the schema.

    • Reload the schema from the database.

    • Save the schema to the connected database. (GXR-4584)

  • Improve syntax error messages when querying non-KoreDB databases.(GXR-4539)

Administration, Security, Configuration, and Deployment Enhancements

  • For admin users, the Settings icon in the Extensions panel opens the admin portal to manage extensions. (GXR-4594)

Kineviz API

  • gxr.map() adds scriptable geographic mapping capability, including 12 function calls to perform various map actions. (GXR-4543)

  • gxr.agent.run() model selection follows the Agent panel’s precedents. (GXR-4567)

Extensions 3.27.0

Kineviz extensions provided by default (shown on the Project > Extensions tab) let you create Grove workbooks for reproducible workflows, and manage and edit imported files. Extensions for custom solutions may also be available.
