Connect Kineviz to a Database

You can connect a Kineviz project to an internal KoreDB graph database, or an external graph or relational database.

Database connection is optional. Without one, you can still create and explore property graphs in a Kineviz project. However, in a project with at least an internal KoreDB database, you can work with larger amounts of data, and your modeled and transformed graph can be easily saved for ongoing exploration.

You establish a connection when you create a project. In the Create Project dialog, you must enter connection details and follow processes required by the database provider you choose. The following Database Type options are available:

  • None, to create a project with no connected database.

  • KoreDB or KoreDb via proxy API, to create and connect a default internal KoreDB graph database.

  • Connect to one of many external relational or graph databases, to enable full Kineviz property graph visualization and analytics with no need to replicate or move data
