Delete Data You can delete data at any time: Delete selected nodes and edges from the canvas. Delete a property and its values from the nodes (or edges) of a category (or relationship). Clear all data from the project, including any hidden data. Clean unused category and relationship labels from the Project panel’s Category and Relationship subpanels. Data is deleted from the project canvas, not from saved views or the connected internal or external database. Delete Selected Nodes To delete a data selection: Select data using any method. Select Delete (trash can icon) on the toolbar or the right-click menu (or press del or backspace). Use Ctrl+Z to immediately undo a Delete or Clear action. Clear All Data To clear all data from a project: Click the Clear toolbar icon (Ctrl + Shift + C). Use Ctrl+Z to immediately undo a Delete or Clear action. Delete a Property In an Enhanced Table you can delete any property and its values from all the nodes (or edges) of a category (or relationship). To delete a property: Deselect all the data on the canvas. Open the Table panel, and the Category or Relationship subpanel. Click to select the category (or relationship) that includes the property you want to delete. Click Enhanced Table to open the editable table. Click the settings icon next to the property name, and select Delete. The property column is removed. Click the X in the upper right corner to close the Enhanced Table. The property and its values are now deleted from the basic table, and no longer appear in information panels, style setting dialogs, or the property lists in the Projects panel. Clean Unused Labels When you delete data or clear the graph, the data model and its metadata persists. This means that the Categories and Relationships subpanels in the Project panel retain category and relationship labels even when no entities of that type remain in the project. To clean out unused labels you can: Use the Clean button that appears when a category or relationship is unused, or Use the Clean Unused Config for Categories/Relationships button in the Settings panel to remove all unused labels in one step. Clean an unused label To remove a single unused entity label: Open the Project panel and Category or Relationship subpanel, and click an unused label. Click its Clean button. A Warning message asks you to confirm removal of the metadata for the entity. Click OK to confirm. The unused label disappears from the Category or Relationship subpanel. Clean all unused labels To clean all unused entity labels: Open the Project panel and Settings subpanel, and click the Advanced Settings dropdown arrow. Scroll to the bottom of the panel, and click Clean Unused Config for Categories/Relationships. A message indicates successful removal of the unused labels. Re-open the Category and Relationship panels to see that the only remaining labels are for nodes and edges currently on the canvas. Empty or delete a project’s internal database In some situations, you may want to empty a project’s internal database, for example, if it includes transformed graph elements you no longer find useful. You can also delete a project’s connected internal database – a more extreme action. You might do this for a project where you want the saved views to persist, but not the data in the internal database. Consider exporting the current database before emptying or deleting it. To manage the internal database, the project must be configured to grant access to the Project > Data Store subpanel. To empty the internal connected database: Open the Project > Data Store subpanel. In the Data Store section, optionally click Export Database Click Empty Database Confirmation message Click Empty Database to proceed, or Cancel to exit. To delete the internal connected database: Open the Project > Data Store subpanel. In the Data Store section, optionally click Export Database Click the dropdown arrow to open the Danger Zone. Click Delete Database. Confirmation message Click Delete to proceed, or Cancel to exit.
