Kineviz Text Editor

The Text Editor extension lets you edit text files of many kinds, including the files managed in the Files extension. This includes Agent markdown files for sessions, the system prompt and skills, as well as other types of files managed in the project.

The Text Editor panel can be opened as either a floating panel, or as a panel docked to the left menu (or to any other panel).

To open the Text Editor from Files:

  1. Click the Files left menu icon to open the file manager panel.

  2. Navigate to the file to be edited.

  3. Right-click on the file and select Open / Edit.

    You can now:

    • Edit the file.

    • Preview (markdown (.md) only)

    • Save your edits.

    • Reload the file.

    • Download the file

  4. When you are done editing, Save the file and close the Text Editor panel. The saved file is updated in the file manager, and you can re-open the Files panel to review and verify.
