GraphXR 3.18.0 Release Notes

This release includes improved usability of the Query bar, enhancements to the Map panel and Shortcut transform, and various bug fixes.

In a GraphXR project, click the Kineviz logo at the bottom left, choose About, then click on the current release tag for a digest of features introduced in current and past releases.

New Features 3.18.0

Usability Enhancements

  • Query Bar enhancements:

    • The property filters applied to a category are now shown on the query (GXR-3295).

    • An open-ended pattern is now a valid query(e.g. Category - RELATIONSHIP - Any) (GXR-3204).

    • Press backspace to delete the most recent query item (GGXR-3196).

    • A RESULTS LIMIT menu in the query dropdown lets users set a limit (or No Limit) for the number of nodes a query can return. The default is 2000 nodes (GXR-3578).

  • When a graph includes nodes but no edges, in the Shortcut transform panel, the options to select edges are not displayed (GXR-3726).

  • Map panel boundaries are now visible (GXR-3681).

  • A Parametric layout is now cleared before a Map layout is applied (GXR-3848).

  • In the Other menu (Kineviz logo), Cmd or Ctrl - Click to open a menu selection in a separate tab (GXR-3846).

GraphXR API

  • gxr.query() corrected so that Cypher queries operate the same through the API and the Query panel UI (GXR-3703).

Bug Fixes

  • When applying a filter to a view with hidden nodes, hidden nodes now stay hidden (GXR-3745).

  • Hidden nodes now stay hidden when a view with hidden nodes is loaded (GXR-38475).

  • Map Auto-fit now persists after Style Setting (GXR-3735).

  • Function (f(x)) transforms show the transformed format only under the new property (not the source property)(GXR-3741).

  • Parametric layouts stack unused nodes at the origin by default, providing a clean layout without needing to explicitly hide the nodes, and this functionality has been restored. Also, the unused nodes can be rendered in a force layout on the canvas by checking the force layout checkbox (but this is rarely useful) (GXR-3739).

  • Nodes on the canvas are now properly synchronized with those in the internal data store. (GXR-3567).

  • Save to Internal Datastore now uses the correct plus or minus icons to select properties. (GXR-3872).
